Story About A Piece Of Chocolate Shared During The Holocaust

Francine Christophe was only eleven years old when she and her mother were deported to a concentration camp in 1944 during World War II. As a child of prisoners of war, she was privileged and her mother was allowed to bring one or two small items with themselves from France. Her mother has packed two little pieces of chocolate with plan to give it to Francine when she’ll need it the most. It happened that a terribly malnourished woman was in labor in the camp, and Francine decided to give her precious chocolate to the woman to give her some extra energy. Thankfully, both the mother and the baby survived.

Years later, as an older woman, Francine was shocked when a stranger gave her a piece of chocolate during a lecture about the war…
