This is one of those timeless stories that will warm your heart no matter how many times you see it.
In 2014 Animal Place took in a rescued goat from an animal hoarding case in southern California. His name was Mr. G. He had lived for years in neglect with a burro named Jellybean who was also rescued and placed into another sanctuary.
Everyone thought this is the happy end of a sad story for both rescued animals, but what they didn’t know was that Mr. G and Jellybean were really close friends. Soon after the arrival Mr. G stopped eating. He just laid in the corner of his stall refusing to go out or eat for six days. He was checked by the vets and nothing was wrong and that’s the moment when Mr. G’s caretakers knew they have to do something.
Animal Place had never taken in a burro before, but they knew that’s their only option. One volunteer offered to drive 14 hours roundtrip to bring Jellybean to the sanctuary. What happened when Mr. G heard Jellybean being unloaded will make you cry and smile at the same time.
