Does anyone have sponsors?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a sponsor(s) for their local group? I noticed on meetup.com there's a place where people can sponsor you, i was curious if anyone has and if so what do you do? what do they do? Has anyone planned activities that do cost money or need money raised? Such as collecting donations etc.?

I have some "sponsors", but mostly they are people who speak at our meetings who normally charge for speaking, or let us use their space for our meetings etc.

I haven't really pursued sponsors for a fee, but I'm sure there are people out there who'd be interested if I did. I just try to keep expenses very low and let the $3 suggested donation cover the expenses :)
