Suppose there is something holding you back, like a broken leg before you want to run the race. Obviously, the foremost goal should be healing your broken leg, not the race. Perhaps the most limiting injury is a mind that is scripted to limit your potentional. Very often this can be an attachment to words and phrases.

To paraphrase a chapter from the book Love is Letting Go of Fear, a book so popular that the author  Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D. appeared on the Johnny Carson show once, you can imagine yourself drowning, and every worry and limiting thought would disapear from your mind except the natural instinct of air.

If fear is holding you back, the 1st immediate goal I believe needs to be peace of mind, than career, other things. The book talks about thinking of peace of mind the way you would think about air while drowning and the recipe to achieve the goal is simple:

Look at everyone is blameless.

Throw these words in the trash can:

"impossible
can't
try
limitation
if only
but
however
difficult
ought to
should
doubt

any words that place you or anyone else in a category
any words that tend to measure or evaluate other people
any words that tend to judge or condemn someone else
"
And yes, I am guilty of violating all these, which is my right, but I don't want to anymore.
